‘Maruwa’ Framed Wall Art 50”x60”

Inspired by Japanese art, “Maruwa” borrows from the traditions of calligraphy and paper collage to play counterpoint to the otherwise modern work. Dynamic black brushstrokes sharply contrast with paper collage embellishments on a neutral ground, revealing a tonal composition rich with tactile dimension. “I wanted to incorporate elements of calligraphy and raw materials with a sensibility of wabi-sabi,” Patrick St. Germain explains. Reproduced here to emulate the artist’s original techniques. Presented in a matte black frame that can be hung vertically or horizontally.

Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. “I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language.”
